Google has recently launched its Gemini application tailored for iOS devices, marking its global availability just days after a limited test phase was observed in certain regions. This innovative app allows users to create images through its multi-modal features, search for information across various platforms such as Gmail and YouTube, and solve problems using image-based inquiries. Additionally, the iOS application includes Gemini Live, a two-way voice interaction capability that facilitates conversations between users and the AI chatbot through spoken dialogue.

The company has provided insights regarding the new Gemini app in an official statement. The technology giant from Mountain View aims to deliver a more refined experience for iPhone users through this application that can be accessed at no cost through the App Store. It is designed to enhance learning, stimulate creativity, and boost productivity, powered by the Gemini family of large language models, including Gemini 1.5.

Staff members have confirmed the app's presence in the App Store. Among its standout features is Gemini Live, which was introduced at the Google I/O conference in August. This interactive function enables individuals to participate in discussions with the AI chatbot. It offers a selection of 10 distinct voices for customization, each differing in tone, pitch, and accent. In the iOS version, Gemini Live is represented by a waveform icon with a shimmering icon situated in the lower-right corner, positioned alongside the microphone and camera icons. This feature facilitates chatting, seeking answers, or brainstorming concepts and is currently available in more than 10 languages, with additional language support planned for the future.
Through Gemini for iOS, users can also generate images by utilizing Google's Imagen 3 generative AI model. Moreover, it can assist with problem-solving by offering personalized, step-by-step guidance and creating tailored study schedules. Users can gather data from recent platforms like Maps and YouTube, or request the AI chatbot to summarize PDF documents using Extensions available in Gemini for iOS. Current extensions include services like Google Flights, Hotels, Workspace, YouTube, and YouTube Music.
While Gemini is provided free on iOS, there is also an option for Gemini Advanced, which can be accessed through a Google One Premium subscription priced at Rs. 1,950 per month. This plan unlocks enhanced capabilities utilizing the Gemini 1.5 Pro model, assures priority access to new features, provides a one million context window, and incorporates Gemini into various Google applications including Docs and Gmail.
