Job Cuts Persist at Embracer Group's Lost Boys Interactive As Reported By Staff

Continued layoffs at Lost Boys Interactive, a subsidiary of Embracer Group observed as numerous workers shared their job terminations on social media platforms like LinkedIn and Twitter. The studio, a branch of Gearbox Software, renowned for the development of games like Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands and Diablo 4, is going through restructuring which has led to many staff members being let go. The precise number of those affected remains undisclosed.

Lost Boys Interactive confirmed the restructuring decision was made to navigate through current industry challenges and enhance future prospects. The studio empathized with the displaced personnel, vowing to offer support and assistance during this transition phase.

Several employees, including Jared Pace, a producer at Lost Boys Interactive, publicly announced the news of their layoffs on Twitter. Pace urged his social media circle to help those in need of job opportunities. His sentiments were echoed by another affected producer, Kevin Eckstein, who stressed that a multitude of skillful individuals were now job-seeking. Travis Thompkins, a Senior game systems designer who also lost his job, expressed optimism, assuring his team he would overcome this setback as he has in the past.

Last year saw a staggering number of redundancies at Embracer-owned companies as part of a broader restructuring operation. Over 900 persons lost their jobs, and additional layoffs were reported before year-end at studios like Fishlabs, Slipgate Ironworks, and 3D Realms. Parent company Embracer opined on the mass job cuts, stating that while it was a painful process, it was crucial to achieve the company’s new set targets.
