Sony's PlayStation Portal Triumphs in Japan's Gaming Scene

The PlayStation Portal is faring remarkably well in Japan, despite our previous coverage suggesting it isn't an overly thrilling device as it only allows PS5 game streaming via Wi-Fi. Regardless of this criticism, it has completely sold out in pre-orders within Japan.

Genki_JPN, reported via Twitter/X that the PlayStation Portals are no longer available on several major online retail platforms in Japan such as Amazon, Yodobashi, Rakuten Books, and Bic Camera. Hence, despite potential lukewarm receptions elsewhere, Sony could potentially have a winner on its hands with the device in Japan.

The PlayStation Portal is set to be launched in the US, UK, France, Germany, Benelux, Spain, Portugal, Italy, and Austria on November 15th.
