Star Wars Outlaws Enhancements Ahead as Creative Director Prepares for The Division 3 Transition

The development team behind the Star Wars Outlaws is currently focused on implementing various enhancements before their creative director transitions to The Division 3. Julian Gerighty, the creative director, will be dedicating his remaining time to refining the game as he prepares for this move.

In a recent discussion with GamesRadar, Gerighty expressed his commitment to maximizing productivity during these final weeks. He acknowledged his new role as the executive producer on The Division while assuring that efforts on the Star Wars project will continue. Adjustments that can enhance the player experience are being integrated, including quality-of-life updates and immediate fixes.

Even though the deadline for transitioning to The Division 3 is approaching, Gerighty and his team are focusing on fulfilling the planned content for this year. They are determined to deliver numerous enhancements, which will extend beyond just the core game. The team is also working on additional downloadable episodes set for release in the coming years.

These expansions, titled Wild Card and A Pirate's Fortune, were announced as part of the game's Season Pass, with Wild Card set to debut in Fall 2024 and A Pirate's Fortune following in Spring 2025. Insights into the storylines of both episodes have been shared, particularly regarding the Sabacc-themed narrative of Wild Card.

The subsequent expansion will feature Hondo, a character from The Clone Wars animated series, who is celebrated for his humor and charm. The themes will revolve around space piracy, which Gerighty noted they would have enjoyed exploring in greater depth.

While Gerighty prepares to leave the Star Wars universe, he has expressed his intention to experience the upcoming game as a player. The Division 3 was officially revealed last September, but details remain sparse, with Ubisoft indicating that a development team is being assembled, suggesting that the title is still a few years from release.
