Alvarez, recognized for his contributions to the horror genre with works like 2013's Evil Dead and 2016's Don't Breathe, shared Ridley Scott's feedback after he viewed Alien: Romulus, and the response was overwhelmingly positive.
"He insisted on viewing it privately, given its significance to the Alien saga," Alvarez disclosed during a chat with Guillermo del Toro at the DGA Latino Summit 2023. "The anticipation while I awaited his reaction was nerve-wracking. Upon his return, he stated, 'Fede, what more can I say? It's fantastic.'"
In a detailed discussion about the initial trailer, Álvarez revealed that Alien: Romulus unfolds two decades after the original, during Ripley's prolonged stasis. Featuring Cailee Spaeny, David Jonsson, Archie Renaux, Isabela Merced, and Spike Fearn, Alien: Romulus is set to debut in cinemas on August 16.
